Psalm 51

Psalm 51

For the director of music. A psalm of David. When the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.
 1 Have mercy on me, O God,
       according to your unfailing love;
       according to your great compassion
       blot out my transgressions.

 2 Wash away all my iniquity
       and cleanse me from my sin.

 3 For I know my transgressions,
       and my sin is always before me.

 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
       and done what is evil in your sight,
       so that you are proved right when you speak
       and justified when you judge.

 5 Surely I was sinful at birth,
       sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

 6 Surely you desire truth in the inner parts [a] ;
       you teach [b] me wisdom in the inmost place.

 7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;
       wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

 8 Let me hear joy and gladness;
       let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

 9 Hide your face from my sins
       and blot out all my iniquity.

 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,
       and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

 11 Do not cast me from your presence
       or take your Holy Spirit from me.

 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation
       and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
       and sinners will turn back to you.

 14 Save me from bloodguilt, O God,
       the God who saves me,
       and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.

 15 O Lord, open my lips,
       and my mouth will declare your praise.

 16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it;
       you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.

 17 The sacrifices of God are [c] a broken spirit;
       a broken and contrite heart,
       O God, you will not despise.

 18 In your good pleasure make Zion prosper;
       build up the walls of Jerusalem.

 19 Then there will be righteous sacrifices,
       whole burnt offerings to delight you;
       then bulls will be offered on your altar.

My world is white.

It's started snowing yesterday. Everything is covered in a frozen blanket of white. It's lovely to watch but inconvenient to drive around in. I drove in the snow for the first time this morning (w/ my parents next to me of course). Could only go at about 40 km/h and have to crawl when turning.

Anybody here who loves cell biology? This is a SUPER COOL animation to watch if you do.

In the meanwhile, I have a test on the cytoskeleton (intermediate filaments, microtubules, actin filaments) tomorrow, fun.....not?

After 3 days of neck-cringing, shoulder aching, steering-wheel-against-palm-rubbing, I've finally mastered the art of parallel parking in a space with 2 ft in front and 2 ft behind car. That is, with my dad's shouting/yelling/instructing haha... And I did not practice with real parked cars of course (that'd be risky). Only with stacked-up plastic lawn chairs. Would I park in such a small space on a real road with real parked cars? Probably not, but it's a useful technique for just-in-case situations.

hahaha I'm having too much fun with our family's first ever digital camera. My favorite photo-editing technique is increasing brightness. Who ever knew brightness could do such wonderful things to photos? Hehehe....

I gave my resume to like...14 places. But they want me to have more flexible hours in september. How can I??! I'm a student. I can't work daytime during weekdays, I have school! Saturdays would be good. Oh wellz...

My summer has finally officially started!!! New look for my xanga: orange daisies. The blue rose looked too blue and depressing, not suitable for a happy jolly summer^.^ I finished Eng 110, Eng 112, and Math 200. I feel that I've used my time so productively hehehe...

So now what? What are my plans for the rest of the summer?

  • have fun w/ friends!
  • help out at church vacation bible school
  • get a job for one month (I doubt that I'll get one though)
  • get my wisdom teeth pulled out (yikes!)
  • go swimming
  • bake bread/muffins/cookies etc
  • finish reading the 7 books that I was in the middle of reading last summer (yea I started reading 6 too many)
  • back-to-school shopping

Girls in front of a creek at the bottom of the Chief in Squamish, all set and ready to hike to the very top!

Crossroads fellowship group picture.

Everybody in the middle of nowhere by the road. Okay fine it's not really the middle of nowhere, but rather on the edge of the woods, a 5min walk from the lake. We're in front of a large fallen tree, which the back row is crouched up on.
